Le projet FROM & TO est né en 2007, puis en 2011 au Kunst Meran Merano Arte. Le but était au départ de demander à des artistes italiens d’inviter des artistes étrangers dont ils appréciaient le travail afin de produire des œuvres à quatre mains. L’expérience est renouvelée cette année sous un format légèrement différent.
Cinq artistes italiens et cinq artistes français sont ainsi invités à réaliser ensemble une exposition. Cette dernière s’est construite tout au long des années 2013 et 2014 au travers de rencontres, workshop et échanges. Un premier workshop s’est déroulé en juillet 2013 à la Villa Arson. Le second a eu lieu au Kunst Meran Merano Arte au mois d’octobre suivant. Une plateforme web d’échange d’informations entre les acteurs du projet a été créée dans la foulée.
Depuis, les artistes ont travaillé par groupes ou de manière individuelle. Aucune thématique, aucune contrainte n’ont été imposées par les directeurs artistiques des deux structures (Valerio Deho et Éric Mangion), laissant libre cours à la créativité et aux travaux spécifiques des artistes dont le choix initial s’est opéré en fonction de la diversité de leurs pratiques. Les œuvres sont toutes produites pour l’exposition. La Villa Arson se transforme ainsi durant le mois d’octobre et début novembre 2014 en atelier de production in vivo. Tout va se jouer sur place, quant à la manière dont les œuvres vont se confronter les unes aux autres, formant ou non des collaborations. Il s’agit d’un pari pris avec dix jeunes artistes sur les valeurs d’échanges, de croisements et de liberté.
La deuxième étape de l’exposition se déroulera entre le 7 février et le 12 avril 2015 au Kunst Meran Merano Arte (Italie).

Le projet From & To s’inscrit dans PIANO, plateforme pour l’art contemporain, France–Italie 2014-2015, initiée par d.c.a / association française de développement des centres d’art, en partenariat avec l’Institut français d’Italie, l’Ambassade de France en Italie et l’Institut français, avec le soutien du ministère des Affaires étrangères et du Développement international, du ministère de la Culture et de la Communication et de la Fondation Nuovi Mecenati.

Un médiateur propose un éclairage sur une sélection d’œuvres de son choix parmi celles présentées dans l’exposition. Ouverts à tous, ces rendez-vous apportent un point de vue informé permettant à chacun d’appréhender l’exposition.
Tous les jours d’ouverture à 15h, sauf le mardi. Sans réservation préalable.

The FROM & TO project was born in 2007, then in 2011 to the Kunst Meran Meran Merano Arte. The purpose was to ask to Italian artists to invite foreign artists whose they appreciated the creations to produce works by four hands. The experience is renewed this year under a slightly different shape.
Five Italian artists and five French artists were invited to organize an exhibition together. The exhibition was created throughout 2013 and 2014 through meetings, workshops and exchanges. The first workshop was held in July 2013 at the Villa Arson. The second was held at the Kunst Meran Merano Arte the following October. An Internet platform was created to enable the participants to exchange information.
Since then the artists have worked both individually and in groups. The artistic directors of both institutions (Valerio Deho and ƒric Mangion) chose not to impose any particular theme or constraint, preferring to give free rein to their creativity and to the specific works that were originally chosen according to the variety of their practices.
All of the works were produced specifically for the exhibition. Thus the Villa Arson will become an in vivo production studio during the month of October and the beginning of November 2014. Everything will come together on site, the way in which the works will confront each other, creating links or not. It is a gamble with ten young artists on the value of exchange, cross-fertilization and freedom.
The second stage of the exhibition will be held between February 7 and April 12, 2015 at the Kunst Meran Merano Arte (Italy).

The project FROM & TO is a part of PIANO, a platform for contemporary art, France – Italy 2014 – 2015, initiated by d.c.a. / a French association for the development of art centers, in partnership with the Institut Français in Italy, the French Embassy in Italy and the Institut Français, supported by the Ministry of foreign affairs and of international development, the Ministry of culture and communication and the foundation Nuovi Mecenati.

Guided Tours : « Rendez-vous / Focus on the exhibition »
A guide proposes you a focus on a artworks selection among the works displayed in the exhibition. Open to all, this appointment will give you the opportunity to express and share your opinion with other people on the exhibition project.
Opening hours :
Everyday at 3:00 pm, except on Tuesdays. No reservation is necessary.
Exceptional exhibition closing : on 24th, 25th, 31st of December 2014 and on 1st of January 2015.
Admission :
5 € per person, free for youngers under the age of 18.
